AUTHORÕS NOTES:
The financial markets have been showing the kind of volatility one would expect following the Jupiter – Uranus square of October 9th. The foundation of the housing market was worn away by the Saturn (reality) – Neptune (illusion) opposition that I have been writing about for several years, and now we will see the real weakness underneath. Visit my website for a more complete observation. One result of the Bush administrations policies is a dollar artificially weakened by some bad decisions and false conclusions. And your children will pay the price. The middle class has been systematically raped during the past decade or so. Sold a bill of goods, many bought houses that are now in default. The only way to grab a piece of the American pie is to buy stocks, either personally or, more often, in retirement accounts. Most IRAs are vested in stocks and any serious dip in the indexes will wipe out huge amounts of paper money that these baby boomers will soon need for living expenses. By devaluing the dollar the Bush administration has made what is left worth even less. What we call inflation is really just another way of saying your money will buy you less than before. How that happens matters very little when you must choose between heat or food.
We will see a Jupiter – Pluto conjunct on December 11th, and although that technically falls into the next lunar cycle, its effects are already being felt. Pluto rules oil, and Jupiter is the planet of expansion and uninhibited growth. With oil at $100 a barrel, need I say more? Those of you who have been readers of this newsletter know full well that I began predicting that oil would reach this level a number of years ago. When oil was trading $32 a barrel I was lecturing and writing that PlutoÕs entrance into Sagittarius would lead to an unprecedented bull market in the energy field, and that $100 was the low end of my expectations. Now as the conjunction between Pluto and Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, we will see another run up past that psychological bench mark. The further expansion of this extra Jupiter energy will continue at least until next month.
Saturn has much to do with banks and the banking industry. Its entrance into Virgo has demanded a securitization of that industry, which has resulted in huge losses for most of the major banks. The amount of money being wiped off the ledgers is astronomical (if not astrological), and it is, I fear, only the tip of the iceberg. The stock markets are having some bad days, and we could be heading for a period of shock.
NEW MOON:
The New Moon falls on Friday
November 9th at 6:03 P.M. EST at 17 degrees Scorpio 10 minutes. We will all tend to see things in black and white
the next few weeks as we dig deeply into the issues of our lives. Superficial
ideas and relationships will not satisfy your desire for a true understanding.
The intense and compulsive nature of this sign could be displayed by an all or
nothing attitude. Some of us will see a reversal of fortunes. Scorpio likes to
hide things, so donÕt be surprised by sudden and unexpected events.
MERCURY ENTERS SCORPIO:
Mercury reenters Scorpio on
Sunday November 11th at 3:41 A.M. EST and this intense energy will be amplified. This will increase our
displeasure with shallow or phony answers. You can expect people to communicate
from a deep place and some could be shocking in the forcefulness of their
speech. Be careful that you donÕt come across too harshly.
THE SUN SQUARES NEPTUNE:
Also on Sunday November 11th
at 8:43 P.M. EST this difficult aspect
completes and confusion is the biggest problem. Be sure that you are understood
and that you understand what others are saying. If not there could be some
difficulties resulting from this confusion. You probably wonÕt feel terribly
forceful or confident, so donÕt push the envelope. Wait a day or so and then
try again. Deception is very possible when Neptune is involved, so make sure
you know what you are getting into. This is often a very bad day in the
financial markets, so if you are trading, watch the overnight markets
carefully.
MARS RETROGRADES:
On Thursday November 15th
at 3:24 A.M. EST the god of aggression and
war turns begins dancing backwards, which will internalize much of this ego
oriented energy. You may find it difficult to assert yourself at times during
the next few months until this turns around at the end of January. Use your
logic, not your brut force and you can avoid much of the potential
difficulties. Whenever Mars or Venus is in retrograde relationships between the
sexes are more difficult and there are often misunderstandings or a lack of
communication.
MERCURY SEXTILES SATURN:
On Friday November 16th
at 6:22 P.M. EST this useful transit comes
along and our thoughts will be focused and reality based. There is little time
for daydreaming or frivolous games. This is a day to work hard at any mental task.
Your rewards will be greatest if you concentrate on a single subject or idea.
VENUS
SQUARES MARS:
On Monday November 19th
at 9:19 P.M. EST the male and female
planets are in conflict, and you can expect it to manifest in our society. Many
people could become a bit edgy or argumentative, especially between the sexes.
Try to ignore all but the most demanding situations. There could be a few
incidences that require your attention, but you should be able to sidestep most
disagreements. If you let your ego control you, you will find this a more
troubling day. Because Mercury also trines Mars tonight, you can easily avoid
troubles through direct and honest communication.
MERCURY TRINES MARS:
Also on Monday November 19th
at 9:53 P.M. EST this positive transit
completes. This should be is another day of hard mental work and planning. If
it has been difficult to express yourself lately, you may find it easier today.
There will be force behind your speech, but it shouldnÕt come out in an overly
aggressive or angry manner, just an assertive one.
MERCURY TRINES URANUS:
On Wednesday November 21st
at 12:57 P.M. EST this interesting and
exciting energy completes. This is a terrific aspect that will stimulate the
mind and speech, allowing many of us to find new and inspiring concepts. Try to
explore your world and seek out unusual events, ideas and people. You wonÕt be
satisfied with the usual routine, so donÕt be too rigid. This is a good day to
study any problem. You may find an unusual and unexpected solution.
THE SUN ENTERS SAGITTARIUS:
We enter the mutable fire sign
on Thursday November 22nd at 11:50 A.M. EST. This is the beginning of a month of expansive ideas
and projects. We will all seek to enlarge our point of view, and as such,
travel is favored, especially to foreign places. There is optimism about
Sagittarius energy that at times can be over the top. But if you can control
the urge to take on too many things you should find this a very exciting and
pleasant month.
URANUS GOES DIRECT:
On Saturday November 24th
at 5:16 A.M. EST this most interesting of
planets changes direction. Some projects that have been held back could begin
to move forward once again. This planet rules the higher mind, where
inspiration and creativity begin. Give that part of your consciousness some
freedom to express itself. It also rules computers, TV and technology in
general, so any difficulties or delays that have been holding things back could
be resolved. The change of direction of this planet could have a powerful
effect on our society. Uranus rules revolution and explosions of all sorts.
Considering the events that are occurring throughout the world right now, this
could be a very powerful moment.
FULL MOON:
This monthÕs lunar peak occurs on Saturday November 24th at 9:30 A.M. EST at 1 degree Gemini 55 minutes. There could be a great many misunderstandings and some forceful arguments around this Full Moon. Because Mercury will square Neptune later today you must be especially careful in your speech and writing. Communications of all sorts will be most important, and things that have been building to a conclusion may finally be resolved, assuming you can sidestep that Neptune square and get to the bottom of things. Even if you can, it may take until the next New Moon for full assimilation of those changes. Be careful while traveling. Full Moons in general offer more opportunities for trouble, but with Mercury (ruler of short journeys, automobiles, etc.) being afflicted confusion will be rampant. Because this is the Thanksgiving weekend we can expect even more than the usual number of accidents, tie-ups and other transportation problems. And as most of us will be with family, you can also expect some intense conversations.
MERCURY SQUARES NEPTUNE:
Also on Saturday November 24th
at 12:51 P.M. EST this difficult and
confusion aspect completes. Double check your plans and all paper work. This is
not a good day for travel, negotiations or signing important documents. In all
communications you should make sure you are understood and that you understand
others. Mistakes are common and can have long-lasting results.
VENUS TRINES NEPTUNE:
On Monday November 26th
at 4:56 A.M. EST this creative aspect
occurs. This transit favors all artistic endeavors. Inspiration is in the air,
and if you can find an outlet for it you can use this energy to your advantage.
Any charity work will be very rewarding. If someone in your life needs your
help, you will get as much as you give by coming to their aid.
THE SUN SQUARES SATURN:
On Friday November 30th
at 3:23 P.M. EST this rather heavy aspect
comes along. This is a day to deal with reality and responsibilities. There
will be little time for frivolous actions, and you should not waste this
aspect. I wouldnÕt plan a party or other social activity. Most of us will be
too busy to play. Get your work done and try not to focus on negative or
pessimistic thoughts.
MERCURY ENTERS SAGITTARIUS:
On Saturday December 1st
at 7:21 A.M. EST the planet of thought and
speech enters this expansive sign. People will tend to be more optimistic and
outgoing than of late, and growth is the underlying desire. It will be easier
to engage in conversation. But donÕt believe everything you hear. Sagittarius
tends to exaggerate things, and at times can ignore reality in favor of a
dream. Keep things real and in perspective and you will enjoy this energy.
VENUS SEXTILES JUPITER:
On Sunday December 2nd
at 3:14 A.M. EST this wonderful aspect
completes. This transit favors all social gatherings, and romance will be in
the air. If this coupling sets off a sensitive point in your chart this could
be a day of pleasure, optimistic thoughts and even some luck. Because this
completes early in the morning it will be felt the night before as it applies.
You may wind up staying in the bar longer than you anticipated. Jupiter does
tend to overdo things, however, so you may want to switch to club soda.
VENUS SEXTILES PLUTO:
On Monday December 3rd at 5:34 P.M. EST this sextile occurs. There will be some intense moments in relationships as we delve deeply into the meaning behind things. However, this is a useful and positive aspect that will allow us the ability to explore the depths of any relationship without the usual conflicts. Any new infatuation will be powerful. This occurs right before Venus enters Pluto ruled Scorpio, and in some ways this is the harbinger of the upcoming period.
VENUS ENTERS SCORPIO:
On Wednesday December 5th
at 8:29 A.M. EST and for the next few
weeks that intensity in romance mentioned above will continue. Any relationship
begun with Venus in this sign will be deep and have a compulsive feeling. Be
careful with your money, and only buy things you really want or you will
begrudge your expenditure. Because this aspect runs through the holiday season
there could be a lot of unsatisfied shoppers. Venus is in its detriment in this
sign and this aspect could have serious consequences in the financial markets
over the next few weeks.
MERCURY SQUARES SATURN:
On Thursday December 6th
at 4:16 P.M. EST this rather heavy aspect occurs.
Negative thoughts and ideas are common when Saturn afflicts Mercury, but if you
focus on your work and pay attention to details you can use this aspect to your
advantage. DonÕt wallow in pessimism. By keeping busy you can redirect this
energy into a useful place. That is called free-will.
THE SUN SQUARES URANUS:
On Friday December 7th
at 3:33 A.M. EST this explosive and
accident-prone aspect completes. Be careful the night before and into this
morning. There could be sudden unexpected events if this sets off your chart.
Whenever the Sun is in conflict to an outer planet there is potential for world
events. And this square is the most volatile of them all. We may have heard
some very distressing news on the Mercury – Saturn square the day before,
and the stocks may have a few very bad and capricious days.
MARS SEXTILES SATURN:
On Saturday December 8th
at 11:01 P.M. EST this useful aspect
completes. Today is a good time to get things done. There will be a serious,
but stable attitude, and the desire to work will be stronger than usual. DonÕt
waste this. Clear up old business, take care of paper work or make plans for
the future. Following the rather difficult aspects of the past few days, this
will allow us a moment of reality-oriented focus.
DARK OF THE MOON:
The next New Moon falls on Sunday
December 9th at 12:40 P.M. EST. The day or two leading up to it will
be a particularly low energy period. If you tend to be emotional this may be a
very trying time each month. I have found
that people with prominent moons or a Cancer Sun, Moon or ascendant respond to
the cycles of the moon more intensely than others. Spend this time finishing up
anything that is incomplete, donÕt try to initiate new projects on a waning
moon, it just wonÕt work out. Once the New Moon hits you begin new projects or
attempt a new approach to an existing problem. If you have been living in a
situation or involved in a relationship that is intolerable or has outlived its
usefulness this would be the proper time to move on with your life. If you have
been working on a project that is almost complete but you seem to lack the
energy for the finality, you must push during these low energy days to end the
matter once and for all. If you donÕt, when the New Moon arrives it will bring
this ÒdeadÓ energy along with it and conflict with the newer force being
presented. Each month we are offered a chance to clean house, so to speak.
Note: All aspects are most
powerful and effective as they apply. Once the transit has completed, its force
is lessened. The further it separates the weaker it becomes.
Below is a list of times this month
when the Moon is Void of Course and neither important decisions nor purchases
should be made during these periods. The Void of Course Moon is a time when we
should try to center ourselves and deal with spiritual matters not
materialistic ones. Any decisions made on the VC Moon will not turn out the way
we had expected.
The Moon is Void of Course from the time it makes its last major aspect in a sign until it enters the next sign. For example, if the Moon squares Mars at 27 degrees Aries and then has no more aspects until it enters Taurus it will be Void of Course for three degrees or about 6 hours. The aspects used are the conjunction, sextile, square, trine, and opposition.
